New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Maine (by extension) make up extraordinary coastline, fishing villages, national parks, and people in the Atlantic Maritimes. Unfortunately, we did not make it up to Newfoundland and Labrador this trip.
We have new Maritime posts on Norse Cove, Chéticamp, and Bear River. The Cabot Trail in Cape Breton in Nova Scotia is regarded to be one of the great roadtrips in the world — it completely lives up to its billing. Six thousand miles in this van trip loop from St. Louis — onward.

One summer we went to Nova Scotia—surely one of our record vacations….just beautiful and the weather so incredible and the people the nicest anywhere. WE loved it.
GREAT post! You guys took some beautiful photos in a very scenic part of the world. It felt like we were transported right with you to the fog and the rocks and the vistas (and that blue heron is magnificent — an AMAZING photo!).
Great to see you guys en route, too — we hope the next time will be a lot sooner than later!
We have so enjoyed your recent posts describing your recent adventures in the Atlantic Maritimes. Your photography is absolutely breathtaking. Already looking forward to see where “Matty” takes you next.
